Ok, so I am so eager to share my photoshoot experience with you and of course the outfit deets. So if you are interested in hearing all about it, grab a cup of coffee (ok, not required lol) and read on!
So about 2 months ago, I decided to get together with a photographer friend of mine and shoot for fun. This was the second time I had a photo session, but the first time it was done by a professional. Like in the past, I was a little tense and felt kinda weird at the beginning, not to mention the 40 degree weather was not helping the cause at all. But after a few shots, ok maybe about 20 lol, I let go of all the uneasiness and decided to forget about everything and enjoy what I was doing and have fun!
So for this session since it was late fall/early winter, I decided to do a fall/winter styling collection to show you various winter styling ideas for you to stay chic and trendy during the winter while also keeping you warm. Because trust me, I know sometimes it is much easier to opt for the latter option and skip out on looking stylish for some warmth, but now you don’t have to!! 🙂
Ok, so lets talk deets!! Lets start with the #overthekneeboots!!! I love, LOVE these boots and cannot seem to get enough use out of them. I purchased these Jessica Simpson over the knee boots last year at Macy’s. Reasons why I love them: They have a skinny stiletto heel, (so chic and sexy) they are pointy toe (also elegant but of course trendy right now) and they are suede. Oh, and don’t let me forget about the gold lace criss cross details on the back. (I did not take a picture of the back details in this photoshoot, I know, bad blogger, but there is a picture of the back details on my previous post, “My First Photoshoot.”) Other reasons why I love these boots… did I mention they are black and go with almost every outfit I have?! Plus black is so sexy and chic!! Can I get an amen?! Alright and one more reason why I love these boots – I can wear them with almost anything (I know I said that already, but I mean it) from jean shorts, to skirts, to jeans to leather pants, to leather skirts, you name it. Check out my instagram for more ideas on how to style these boots.
The coat!! J’adore!! Not gonna lie though, I was a little skeptical when I tried it on at Macy’s because of the length, don’t get me wrong I love the length I was just skeptical because I am a petite girl and I didn’t know how I felt about wearing a knee-length coat. I thought it would surely make me look shorter. But after looking at the coat and picturing it with an outfit and heels, (I usually do that with everything) I really didn’t care if it was going to make me look shorter or not and I made my decision – I was buying the coat!!!
So details… the brand is Guess. (One of my favorites brands. I went crazy when I lived in LA and got to shop at that store, walking in there alone made me go crazy lol.) It is knee- length, now that I wear it I really don’t think it makes me look shorter, in fact I think this length is perfect and you can wear this coat with various outfits too. It is a double breasted coat, giving you that nice silhouette look that we all like. 😉 This coat also has a faux fur shawl collar, which gives it that chic look and lets you stay in style. And you can wear this coat with anything, I have worn it with athleisure shoes, converse, riding boots, stilettos and of course my over the knee boots.
So I paired this outfit with a black leather skirt from Kendall + Kylie clothing line and a black and grey perfect tee from Express. I absolutely loved how the whole outfit came out together.
Let me know what you guys think. Also, I am interested in learning how you guys stay warm and stylish throughout the cold winter months. Please let me know your ideas by leaving a comment below or sending me an email. I would love to hear from you guys!! Bisous!! :*
